“Ocean Embraces All Flowing Rivers” is a commemorative single specially composed by composer Chen Zhiyi to celebrate the first anniversary of his 2024 music album Fantasyland.

The piece carries Chen’s deep gratitude toward the city of Shanghai, expressing its spirit of openness, inclusiveness, and cultural diversity—a city that truly embodies the idea of “embracing all rivers.”

For this project, Chen collaborated with several outstanding traditional Chinese instrumentalists, recording the track together and filming a stunning music video that presents a fresh fusion of traditional Chinese aesthetics and modern visual artistry.

Blending Western orchestral textures with a wide range of traditional Chinese instruments—including the pipa, guzheng, dizi, and suona—the work intertwines grandeur with delicate lyricism, creating a distinctive and immersive sonic landscape. Amid the majestic orchestration, the expressive performances of the traditional instruments highlight a refined Eastern charm, while the incorporation of bossa nova and other modern elements lends the piece a lively rhythmic flow and vibrant color.

The single was officially released on July 29, 2025.
